Whole Home Air Purifier – American Standard AccuClean System
Video Transcript
We’re in the attic of the Ultimate Home. I’m gonna tell you something, this is the key to ENERGY STAR© having foam in your attic. It’s hot outside. I mean hot, even though this attics 74 degrees in here, and it’s 89 degrees outside, you still don’t want to heat and cool your attic. You want your air conditioning going in your home. This makes your house more efficient and more comfortable. Go in your house, now, if you don’t have an energy in the storehouse. Go up in the attic at two o’clock in the afternoon and see if you can stay up there and do a video, all right?
Let’s talk about some of the features right here. Now, if you like carrying your kids to the doctor and you like dusting, just fast forward through this part. This is the American Standard Accu Clean 99.96%, of all dust mites and everything. This thing gets it. There’s no telling what it’s going to save you on taking your kids to the doctor because they’re got allergies or is stuffed up. Your wife’s going to love you when you put this in cause the dustins almost over. Go in your house now and look through the glass and look at the light and see all the dust particles in it. And you get one of these things, look in your house, there’s no more dust.
Let’s talk about something that’s important. Any heating and air guy can come out here and say, ‘Hey, look, I did you a really good job. It’s really tight. It’s really efficient.’ The builder can tell you that, but you know what? If it’s a true ENERGY STAR home, you’re getting a third party that doesn’t have anything to do with the heating and air guy. That’s not the builder’s best friend. And he’s gonna come out here and he’s gonna give that homeowner a real world test.
This house scored a 25. The best I’ve ever heard of was a 43. Look right here on this hard duct. You use mastic, not duct tape. You don’t go down the grocery store and buy some duct tape and two years from now, it’s gon fall off. Do you know in old systems back in the day in the early eighties and nineties, before Mastic, before ENERGY STAR, you would lose almost 25% of your cooling capacity through loss in duct work. This is just another key to energy savings.

TLDR
Adding a home air purifier when building your energy efficient home helps to clean and purify the air in your home by passing it through a series of filters. To provide maximum efficiency, it’s normally hooked into your existing ductwork and works with your existing system and is best to install during construction rather than after.
We’re continuing through our Energy Efficient Home series, and in this installment, we’re talking about the American Standard AccuClean System we installed in this Raleigh, NC home. While our prior blogs focus on many of the energy and cost saving features of an ENERGY STAR® home, we’ll be highlighting more on the health, convenience, and environmental benefits of the AccuClean System.

What Is an Air Purifier?
An air purifier, sometimes referred to as an air cleaner or air filter, is a device designed to improve indoor air quality by removing various pollutants and contaminants from the air. It draws in air from the surrounding environment and uses various filtration or purification methods to capture or neutralize particles and harmful substances. The purified air is then released back into the room, providing cleaner and healthier air to breathe.

What Is a Whole Home Air Purifier?
A whole home air purifier, or whole house air purifier, is a system that integrates with the HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) system of a home to purify the air throughout the entire house. Unlike standalone air purifiers that are designed for a single room, a whole house air purifier treats the air in all rooms connected to the HVAC system.

Why You Should Add a Whole Home Air Purifier During Construction and Not After
Installing a whole-home air purification system during the construction of a home allows for easier integration with the HVAC system. This proactive approach ensures that the air purification system is seamlessly integrated into the home’s design and can leverage the construction process to minimize installation costs and potential structural disruptions. Implementing an air purifier post-construction might require additional modifications to your home or HVAC system, leading to potential inconveniences and additional costs. By ensuring air quality from the outset, residents benefit from a healthier living environment from the moment they move in.
Benefits of a Whole Home Air Purifier
If you’re working on building your energy efficient home, equipped with efficient heating and cooling along with good insulation, windows, and other features, do you really need an AccuClean System? Convenience [Saves You Time]
